About UKACC Day

The United Kingdom Automatic Control Council (UKACC) is the national member organization of the International Federation of Automatic Control (IFAC). UKACC Day is an annual event, which is hosted by one of the corporate members, and includes the annual UKACC Lecture and a PhD Showcase. This year, UKACC Day will also take place on the first day of the Advances in Process Automation and Control 2017 Conference.

13.00 Lunch, exhibition and PhD Showcase poster session.

14.05 UKACC/IChemE Lecture. The UKACC/IChemE Lecture will be given by Professor Tony Pipe, University of West England and the Bristol Robotics Laboratory. He will cover new developments related to control and autonomous systems and their application to self-driving cars.

15.05 Latest developments in process control and automation.

16:50 PhD Showcase presentations.

18:00 Drinks reception and PhD Showcase poster session.

PhD Showcase

Any current or recently completed control-related PhD student can take part. Presenting work-in-progress, or planned work is fine, not just final results. A UKACC panel will judge and award a BEST ORAL PRESENTATION PRIZE and BEST POSTER PRIZE

This will include giving both a 3-minute oral presentation as well as a poster. Please see further details on how to enter the competition. Deadline: Friday, 26 May 2017.

Advances in Process Automation and Control 2017

Participants of UKACC Day are encouraged to attend this conference as well, if interested. Please go to the conference website for the programme and how to register seperately for that event. There is no need to get a ticket for UKACC Day if you have registered for the Advances conference.
